The airflow is generated with air compressors or blowers. There is a wide range of materials that can be conveyed in the dilute phase pneumatic conveying system.

Dilute phase (or lean phase) conveying whether operated in pressure or vacuum mode is a suspension-flow method in which material is introduced into a fast-moving air stream inside a pipeline. The solids remain fully dispersed in the gas flow as they travel at velocities typically ranging from 15 to 25 m/s, depending on material characteristics. Both pressure and vacuum systems use high conveying velocity, low operating pressure, and low product-to-air ratios, making them ideal for handling free-flowing powders and granules.

With proper engineering, the conveying velocity is optimized to minimize energy consumption while ensuring reliable, dust-free, and efficient transfer. Which Mode — Pressure or Vacuum — Should You Choose?

Your choice between pressure and vacuum mode depends on your material's journey. Choose Pressure to push material from a single source to multiple destinations, ideal for longer distances and higher throughput. Choose Vacuum to pull material from multiple pick-up points to a single destination, perfect for dust-free operation, hygienic applications, and easier integration into existing plant layouts where space is limited.
